Here are some answers to the most frequently asked questions about face painting
Do you have Public Liability Insurance and Working with Children Check?
Yes. Safety is very important to us and we ensure all our artists are fully insured and have current Working With Children clearance.
Do you have a minimum booking time?
Yes, we have a minimum booking time of 2 hours.
What areas do you service?
We are based in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. We also service all areas for Sydney for events over 3 hours, however travel fees may apply. Should travel fees apply, this would reflect the distance we have to cover in a round trip (ie. to and from the event location), our time on the road, fuel and any tolls incurred. We also have a reliable team of local artists throughout these regions, so, where expedient, we will work with you to organise one of these artists to cover your event.
What do you bring with you?
We will bring everything needed to paint faces! This includes a table or Craft N Go paint station, 2 chairs/stools, our face painting kit and water.
What kind of products do you use?
All our artists only use professional, high quality cosmetic grade products. Some of our paint and glitter brands include but are not limited to Superstar, TAG, Fusion, Global, DFX, FPA, and Cameleon.
What do I need to provide?
Primary consideration is a safe place to paint with an area where parents and children can queue safely (away from moving vehicles and pedestrian traffic). For outdoor events, we'll need shade which could be provided by a gazebo. For evenings, we will need lighting (since we can't paint in the dark). Finnaly, as face painters have a lot of equipment to carry so parking must be provided close to the painting station. (If paid parking is required this will be included in the cost).
Can you cater to special requests or themed parties?
Yes, of course, our artists can offer a wide range of designs to choose from. Whether you're looking for superheroes, mystical themes (the ever-popular mermaid and unicorns), or animals, we can create designs that are perfect for your event. We can also create custom designs if you have something specific in mind. Take a look at the gallary if you are looking for inspiration.
What age does the child need to be to get painted?
For safety reasons, we will not paint children under 2 years of age. We strongly recommend children to be above the age of 3 years, especially for painting on the face where their skin is most sensitive. For ages 2-3 years, we are happy to paint the children's arms at the request of the parent(s). Whilst every care is taken to keep your child safe, parents are responsible for the care of each and every child that is painted. We will also only paint children that are willing and happy to be painted and reserve the right not to paint a child where we consider safety to be compromised.
What if one of the children at the party is sick?
We prioritize the health and safety of all children. Therefore, we cannot paint on sick children or those with skin irritations or infections. This is to prevent any further irritation, or potential risks to the child in question or other children, by contamination of products. Our goal is to ensure a fun and safe experience for everyone involved. Thank you for understanding!
What is the best way to remove face paint?
We recommend cleaning the skin with warm soapy water and rinse off with water. It may be possible that some stronger pigment may cause slight staining. If this occurs, gently apply a little olive oil or coconut oil on the stained area, and then wipe off with aa moistened paper towel.
What is the best way to remove chunky glitter?
The glitters we use are all professional and cosmetic grade glitters. When you return home, and are ready to clean the chunky glitters off your face, we recommend using something stiff like a business card, ruler or credit card to gently scrape the glitters off your skin. Please dispose these glitters into a tissue or wipe and throw them in the bin. You can then wash your face off as recommended above. Be aware: non-cosmetic glitters can cause injuries, most notably to the eyes, and in severe cases, blindness - so please check with any face painter that their glitters are safe.
